Thrilling Rides and Fair Food Invade the Tuileries Garden
At the Fête des Tuileries, both adults and children can be amused at this fair offering exciting rides and delicious treats. This unique event brings a number of thrilling amusement park rides to the classical setting of the Tuileries garden.
There are roughly 60 rides at the fair, which is held from June 22 to August 19, 2012. These rides are intended for both children and adults, with adults being able to enjoy high-speed, high-thrills rides that could rival any big amusement park.
Perennial fair food favorites like cotton candy and candy apples bring back childhood memories and also create new ones. Plus, this is a fair with a French flair, so it also offers crepes, Belgian waffles, French doughnuts, churros and a common marshmallow treat called 'guimauve.'
No fair would be complete without games to test the throwing, aiming and fishing skills of visitors. And the winners of these games will not leave empty-handed. For those who want more athletic challenges, a giant slide, a rock-climbing wall and a trampoline will leave participants breathless.
Visitors can catch their breaths by enjoying the serenity offered by the rest of the Tuileries garden. This fair was conceived with a desire to respect the traditions of the garden, so the main passage follows an authentic horse path that was established in 1900.
The fair is open every day (including Sunday) from 11 a.m. to 11.45 p.m. On Fridays and Saturdays, it is open until 45 minutes past midnight. It's free to go in, and each ride and attraction is paid for individually. By visiting the Fête des Tuileries, guests staying at the Hotel Regencia can experience a Parisian landmark like never before.
