    1.Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg

    Until March 28, 2016, visit Opera Bastille and attend one Richard Wagner’s best music dramas, Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg. This masterpiece was performed for the first time on the stage of the Königliches Hof- und National-Theater, in 1868, and succeeded to rank among the finest operas in the repertoire.

    The new production of Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg at Opera Bastille is conducted by Philippe Jordan and directed by Stefan Herheim.

    2.Rigoletto

    From April 09 until May 30, 2016, Opera Bastille gives you the chance to attend Rigoletto, an amazing opera by Giuseppe Verdi. Inspired by Victor Hugo’s popular play, The King Amuses Himself, Francesco Maria Piave wrote this melodrama in three acts. However, some changes were made because of the censorship of Hugo’s play by the Austrian government.

    This new show brings together the two music conductors Nicola Luisotti and Pier Giorgio Morandi. It is conducted by the prominent German director Claus Guth.

    3.Iolanta & The Nutcracker

    Until April 01, 2016, Palais Garnier will be holding two of the most wonderful works by the fabulous composer, Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky.

    The show unites his one-act opera that was written by his brother Modest Ilyich Tchaikovsky, Iolanta (1892), and his two-act ballet, The Nutcracker (1892), an excellent classical ballet that was written by Ivan Vsevolozhsky and Marius Petipa
