Seydou Keïta on View at the Galeries Nationales du Grand Palais

From March 31st through July 11th, 2016, the Galeries Nationales du Grand Palais puts on display the exhibition Seydou Keïta, an exhibition held to highlight the best and finest portrait photographs taken by the Malian photographer Seydou Keïta.

Considered to be one of the most remarkable photographers of the 20th century, Seydou Keïta efficiently used the innate talent and great skills that he has as a means to immortalize the significant changes that his country had seen between the 1940s and the 1960s, notably the radical shift in the Malian society at that period.

Organized by the Réunion des Musées Nationaux (RNM) with the support of Jean Pigozzi’s private collection The Contemporary African Art Collection (CAAC), the exhibition Seydou Keïta features more than 300 exceptional photographs and prints.

Other interesting works made by artists who belong to the same period are also on display.
