Put On Your Dancing Shoes at the Théâtre de Chaillot

The Théâtre de Chaillot, a theater and cultural space just steps away from  the Eiffel Tower, is known for its annual balls that invite everyday Parisians to join a party with some of the most talented dancers and choreographers in the country.

This gives participants the chance to learn new dance steps while enjoying a night out with friends. At the same time, no previous experience or dance skills are needed, making the theater's 'Modern Ball' perfect for anyone who wants to have a unique experience in the City of Light.

Guests staying at one of the Sister Hotels Champs-Elysées are in the perfect spot to enjoy the event that has now become a tradition at the Théâtre de Chaillot, which is located on the Trocadero Square a short distance away from the Avenue des Champs-Elysées. The 'Modern Ball,' or 'Bal Moderne' as it is named, began in 1993 and has since been imitated all around the world.

With the cooperation of the professional choreographers who act as teachers, dance novices can learn mini-choreographies on the spot and then practice their new skills during the dance party that follows. The party comes complete with a DJ who keeps the music flowing into the night.

This year, which marks the 20th anniversary of the 'Bal Moderne,' the event will be held on Friday, November 15th and Saturday, November 16th, 2013. On both nights the ball starts at 8 p.m. Plus, on Saturday, there is even and extra afternoon ball that starts at 2:30 p.m. for those who wish to party in the light of day.

Taking place in the Grand Foyer of the theater, the ball lasts for four hours. This means that visitors to Paris should put on their dancing shoes and prepare for several hours of fun at the Théâtre de Chaillot. Tickets can be purchased online on the theater's website.
