Picasso.mania: An exhibition at the Grand Palais
Until February 29, 2016, the Grand Palais puts on show “Picasso.mania”, a large exhibition that sets out over 400 works of the popular artist Pablo Picasso along with many other famous modern artists.
Who is Picasso?
Pablo Ruiz Picasso, a Spanish painter, sculptor, and printmaker. He was born on October 25, 1881, in Málaga, Spain and died in Mougins, France on April 8, 1973. Best known for founding the Cubist art movement, with Georges Braque (1882–1963) in the early 20th century, Picasso has become one of the world’s leading figures of art.
About the Exhibition:
“Picasso.mania” is an exhibition that highlights the different phases of Picasso’s life and his significant impact on both modern and contemporary art. It also puts on display great works by 75 famous artists who have been inspired by Picasso’s theories and ideas. Among them, we can mention Roy Fox Lichtenstein (1923 –1997), Andy Warhol (1928 –1987), and Jasper Johns (1930).
