History of fashion at the Museum des Arts Décoratifs - by hotel Elysees Regencia Paris
From now and until October 10th 2010, the Museum des Arts décoratifs presents the first part of a wonderful exhibition dedicated to the history of contemporary fashion:
Ideal history of contemporary fashion Vol.1, the 70s & 80s.
This exhibition, through a scenography of 40 videos and around 150 dresses, retraces the evolution of fashion between 1971 and 1990:
1971, collection of Yves Saint Laurent, a tribute to the 40s, scandalous and revolutionary.
1990, fashion show of Jean Paul Gaultier, the "Rap-pieuses", with his collection harmonizing sport and mysticism.
The second part of this exhibition, retracing the 90s and 2000s, will be presented from November 25th 2010 to May 8th 2011.
Take the time to visit also the permanent collection of the museum, which proposes all the aspects of the artistic production (graphic arts, jewels, wallpapers, toys, glass) from the Middle ages to the present time with some 150.000 objects.
