    Eliogabalo : Opera by Francesco Cavalli at Palais Garnier, Paris

    Palais Garnier, the leading opera house in the city of Paris, opens to view a new show of Eliogabalo, a baroque opera by Francesco Cavalli, from September 14 to October 15, 2016.

    Eliogabalo was composed, in 1667, by the Italian composer of the early Baroque period Francesco Cavalli (1602 – 1676). However, until now, it is not known who wrote the libretto of this opera.

    This work is written in three acts, in the Italian language, and adapted from the Roman emperor Heliogabalus’ life.

    Eliogabalo will be presented to the audience under the conduction of Leonardo García Alarcón and the direction of Thomas Jolly.

    Attendees will enjoy around 180 minutes listening to one of the loveliest baroque music pieces.
