Don Giovanni Comes to the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées

Don Giovanni is one of the most well-known operas ever created. Composed by Mozart, with a libretto by Lorenzo Da Ponte, 'Don Giovanni' made its debut in 18th-century Prague. The two-act opera features a mix of comedy, drama and melodrama.

As one of the most-performed operas in the world, 'Don Giovanni' has enjoyed immense success in many cities and now it is coming to Paris, at the prestigious Théâtre des Champs-Elysées. The opera is based on the tale of the famously seductive Don Juan, a nobleman who spends his free time in the pursuit of questionable activities. From April 25 until May 5, 2013, guests staying at one of the Sister Hotels Champs-Elysées can discover, or rediscover, this classic piece of opera.

The opera will be performed in its orginal language, Italian, but it will also feature French subtitles. However, even for those who do not speak French or Italian, the music and performances showcased in 'Don Giovanni' will be just as enjoyable to witness.

The Théâtre des Champs-Elysées is located on the posh Avenue Montaigne, which has a central location in the city not too far away from the Champs-Elysées. Normally, visitors from around the world come to this avenue to see the high fashion boutiques and get a glimpse of Paris's most affluent residents. However, with the presence of the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, a visit to Avenue Montaigne also provides a chance to get a high dose of culture in the form of numerous plays, classic concerts and operas.
