An Exclusive Contemporary Art Fair Comes to the Grand Palais

From March 28 until April 1, 2013, a prestigious art event will be taking place at the Grand Palais, and guests staying at one of the Sister Hotels Champs-Elysées are perfectly placed to discover it.

Open to all forms of modern artistic expression, the Art Paris Art Fair is currently organizing its 2013 edition, which will debut in March. This art fair pays tribute to modern and contemporary art in one of the most impressive architectural structures in the city of Paris -- the Grand Palais. As a result, visitors can discover modern, contemporary and avant-garde art from inside of a building that could itself be considered a work of art.

Spread over 6,500 square meters, the art fair will display works from roughly 140 galleries from across the world. Moreover, a special space measuring 350 square meters will be exclusively dedicated to avant-garde artwork. This is only the second year that the avant-garde space will be featured as part of the Art Paris Art Fair -- it was recently created to explore the complex relationship between contemporary art and design. There will also be a new section called 'Promises,' which is dedicated to young art galleries no more than five years old.

Art conoisseurs can also enjoy the series of talks that are planned for the event. The series, entitled 'Springtime in Paris,' will showcase Paris's role on the international art scene.

Last year, the Art Paris Art Fair attracted some 48,000 visitors who came to see the works of 1,200 artists. Visitors to Paris should therefore not miss their chance to see some of the most innovative art that the world has to offer.
