An Adaptation of the Opera 'Carmen' in the 8th Arrondissement

At the Espace Pierre Cardin, a theater venue in the beautiful 8th arrondissement of Paris, an adaptation of the opera 'Carmen' will be presented on September 20 and 21, 2014. Created by Georges Bizet, Carmen is one of the most well known operas to ever be performed. At the Espace Cardin, the Côté Choeur opera company will present a special version of the show — a version that has already toured in various areas surrounding the Parisian region.

The Côté Choeur opera company has previously performed classics such as Rossini's 'The Barber of Seville' and Verdi's 'La Traviata.' It has also taken on more modern shows like Benjamin Britten's 'Death in Venice' and Leonard Bernstein's 'Candide.' These performances have proven that the opera company can take on a variety of material from the masters of opera.

Guests staying at the Sister Hotels Champs-Elysées can experience the talent of the Opéra Côté Choeur during their stay in Paris. The Espace Pierre Cardin is located at 1 Avenue Gabriel, just moments away from the Avenue des Champs-Elysées and the Place de la Concorde. Those who see 'Carmen' will witness a company of roughly 40 chorus members, actors and singers as well as a professional orchestra. This group of talents is supported by choreographers, wardrobe artists and decorators.

Tickets can be purchased on the website of the Opéra Côté Choeur. Tickets are priced at €18, €28 and €38 each, depending on the category. Purchasing a ticket for the show allows spectators to see the legendary love story based on a novella by French writer and intellectual Prosper Mérimée. Music and opera lovers in the City of Light should therefore not hesitate to attend this innovative performance of classic opera.
