A Week Dedicated to Independent Cinema on the Champs-Elysées

The Champs-Elysées Film Festival is coming to Paris from June 11 to June 17, 2014. As a result, guests staying at one of the Sister Hotels Champs-Elysées are in the perfect spot to catch a screening during the glamorous event.

This represents only the third annual edition of the festival, which was created by the distributor and producer Sophie Dulac. As has been the case with the previous two editions, the festival will take place in cinemas all along the famous avenue, including the Gaumont Champs-Elysées, the MK2 Grand Palais, the UGC George V, the Balzac, the Lincoln and the Publicis.

The film festival concentrates on a diverse set of independent films from France and the U.S. This year, there will be a special concentration on African-American achievements in cinema. The Champs-Elysées Film Festival will also screen a selection of more than 35 short films, coming from both French and American filmmakers.

Many films are making their premier at the film festival, which will offer a red carpet experience, complete with the participation of the filmmaking teams. In addition to new releases, the event will include a selection of classic films that have been restored. For true film fans, a series of master classes allows the public to engage in exchanges with talented filmmakers. Kids will not be left out of the fun either, as a selection of children's films and cinema concerts provide entertainment for all ages.

All in all, approximately 100 films will be screened during the week of the festival. On May 23, 2014, the English version of the festival's full agenda will be revealed on the Champs-Elysées Film Festival website.
