49th International Paris Air Show at Le Bourget

From as far as back as one can remember, Paris has been a nest for inventors, travellers and explorers. Some French names echo in history as they are associated with great expeditions and important discoveries… Jacques Cartier, in the 16th Century led three main expeditions to Canada, Samuel de Champlain is known as “the Father of Canada” as he founded Quebec City, Henry Mouhot brought Angkor back to life, and the very famous Clément Ader pioneered aviation.

Nowadays, Paris Charles de Gaulle airport, built between 1966 and 1974, is the 7th busiest airport in the world with more than 8 million travellers each year. To celebrate this long French history of explorers and air pioneers, the world renowned International Paris Air Show Le Bourget has been gathering state of the art air technology for almost 50 years. From commercial planes you fly in when you go on holiday to incredibly shaped high-tech machines, the International Paris Air Show Le Bourget groups almost everything which is able to fly, glide or just maintain itself in a weightlessness state.

From 20th to 26th June 2011, discover a whole new world where flying, the oldest dream of mankind from the days of Icarus in the Greek Mythology, is now within reach. More than 2,000 exhibitors will be represented at the event, more than 193,000 visitors will be amazed by the newest air and space inventions and technologies, and more than 140 aircraft will be presented – from the most well known to the most obscure – of which 42 will fly for the crowd.

Do not miss this unique occasion to visit the world’s leading air show, and witness the very spectacular Patrouille de France show, consisting of an incredible program of highly dangerous tricks and figures performed with jets. But not only you will discover new aircrafts, you will have the chance to witness the very oldest air technologies and to travel back in time thanks to a tribute exhibition of old and collector’s planes.

Either for business or for your pleasure, fly away from your everyday life for a few days, and indulge yourself in a lighter-than-air trip to Paris. Be inspired and thrilled at the 49th International Paris Air Show Le Bourget, and then ease back on the throttle and cruise on auto-pilot as you stay overnight in the luxury of the Regencia Hotel Champs Elysées.
